Lu'an Solar Makes a Grand Appearance at the WAM Exhibition in Nigeria

November 17, 2025

Recently, the largest hardware, electromechanical, and new energy exhibition in West Africa (WAM) was grandly held in Lagos, Nigeria. As a state-owned photovoltaic manufacturing enterprise, Lu’an Solar showcased three flagship product portfolios at the event: high-efficiency solar cells, the Zhu-series 685W ultra-high-power module, and the 1331kWh large-scale integrated PV-storage-charging system.

Climate Adaptability Becomes a Core Competitive Advantage

At the Lu'an Solar booth, representatives from local energy companies and contractors flocked to inquire and negotiate. The "Zhu Series - 685W Modules," a key exhibit, became the focus of attention. This product utilizes industry-leading N-type TOPCon technology, achieving a module efficiency exceeding 23%. Its special encapsulation process and wind-resistant design can withstand the extreme climate of West Africa, characterized by high temperatures, high humidity, and frequent sandstorms.

"The Nigerian power grid is extremely unstable. Our factory only receives a few hours of stable power each day, and we urgently need stable electricity," said a manager from a Lagos factory after a product demonstration.

To address diverse electricity consumption scenarios, Lu'an Solar showcased its "Integrated Photovoltaic and Energy Storage System" at this exhibition. This system deeply integrates photovoltaic power generation, high-efficiency energy storage, and intelligent management technologies, enabling 24/7 uninterrupted and stable power supply, precisely matching the different electricity needs of Nigerian communities without electricity, industrial parks, and public facilities. Two flexible configuration options were demonstrated on-site:

Configuration 1: Utilizing 6.2kW photovoltaic modules + 6.2kW off-grid inverter + 16kWh energy storage battery, a single system generates over 30 kWh of electricity per day and has a storage capacity of 16 kWh, fully meeting the daily electricity needs of households and general public facilities;

Configuration 2: Configuring 11kW photovoltaic modules + 11kW off-grid inverter + 2×16kWh energy storage batteries, a single system can support up to 9 units operating in tandem, generating up to 500 kWh of electricity per day and having a storage capacity of 288 kWh, fully supporting the stable operation of local small and medium-sized factories.

A sales manager from Lu'an Solar Energy Company explained at the event, "Based on Nigeria's superior solar conditions, this photovoltaic-storage system, if applied to a medium-sized industrial park, is expected to save tens of thousands of US dollars in electricity costs annually and achieve carbon emission reductions of thousands of tons."

Policy Dividends Combined with Rigid Demand

The overwhelming popularity of this exhibition is a microcosm of the explosive growth of Nigeria's photovoltaic energy storage market. As Africa's most populous country, Nigeria still has a large number of communities with 228 million people without electricity. Severe power shortages not only hinder improvements in people's livelihoods but also place an unbearable burden on industrial and commercial enterprises. Nigeria has attracted foreign investment through a series of measures, including feed-in tariff subsidies, tax breaks, and reduced import taxes on photovoltaic products. Against this backdrop, in 2024, Nigeria became Africa's second-largest importer of photovoltaic energy storage, with Chinese companies becoming the main force in the market. Lu'an Solar has long been involved in this strategy, with its module products having been stably supplied to the Nigerian market for many years and exported to 30 countries and regions in Europe and the Middle East.

From Product Export to Solution Output

Facing the tremendous potential of the West African market, Lu’an Solar is advancing its internationalization strategy from simple “product export” to delivering comprehensive “system-level solutions.” At the exhibition, the company not only showcased its hardware products but also demonstrated its full-chain service capabilities through localized scenario simulations and data comparisons.

“Our approach draws on proven experience in the European market, and we plan to establish localized service hubs across West Africa,” said the head of Lu’an Solar’s overseas market division. The company has already reached preliminary cooperation agreements with three local enterprises, paving the way for broader opportunities in sectors such as commercial and industrial rooftop power plants and rural off-grid power supply.
